Burgers are being flipped, milkshakes are being spun and fries are being… well, fried. Shake Shack is gearing up to open its first location in Canada this week. With new Canadian exclusives and never tried before menu items, there’s a lot to look forward to.

And lucky for you, Curiocity got a first look at the new restaurant and its menu.

“As part of their commitment to celebrate the local community, Shake Shack is unveiling more Canadian exclusive menu items and unique partnerships with Ontario-based businesses,” shared Shake Shack Canada back in May.

Interior space

Compared to other fast food chains, this Shake Shack location offers a more sophisticated and elevated environment.

With neutral colours, enough ambiance lighting and sunlight, paired with notes of its trademark green, it feels almost as if you weren’t inside a burger joint.

As you make your way further inside the restaurant, you’ll find a more cozy space but what stands out here is the local Toronto-inspired art splattered across its walls.

“When Shake Shack started as a hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park, their mission was simple: raise funds for a public art project,” shared the chain in a press release.

The Canadian location maintains these values with the dedicated space that “reflects the city’s spirit while staying true to Shake Shack’s distinct aesthetic.”

Shake Shack partnered with local Toronto artist, Briony Douglas, who created the art installation.

But that’s not all! Make your way upstairs for more available seating, offering a birds eye view of the entire restaurant bellow. Perfect for people watching.

Now for the good stuff!

Menu

Here’s a rundown of what we tried:

Flat-top Dogs

Their Fresh Lemonade paired with their butterfly cut hot dog. The saltiness if the sausage paired with the sweet subtle taste of the hot dog bun is a match made in heaven.

Chicken Shack

Crispy chicken breast topped with lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk herb mayo.

And no, your eyes don’t deceive you. That is in fact a ‘Shack White’ which is one of the two wines offered at Shake Shack. The chain partnered with Rosewood Winery to produce the beverages.

ShackBurger

And of course, the OG ShackBurger. A delicious cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce.

We recommend you pair this with a ShackMeister Ale which is produced locally by none other than Bellwoods Brewery.

‘Shroom Burger

Last but not least, we sunk our teeth into the vegetarian option – ‘Shroom Burger. It’s a Crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce.

Here it’s pictured with a Shack Red.
