Love Target? It looks like there’s going to be a few more reasons to love the big box chain later this year. Shoppers at select stores will be able to pick up Starbucks coffee and make returns without leaving the car thanks to new additions to Target’s Drive Up service.

These additions are happening thanks to the popularity of the chain’s Drive Up service and a company wide strategy to build on easy, differentiated shopping experiences. But how exactly will all of this work?

According to Target, customers using the feature “will indicate they’re ‘on their way’ to the store via the Target app and will have the option to place an order from the Starbucks menu.” When they arrive, a Target Drive Up team member will bring their order to the car. When it comes to returns the process is similar in that customers initiate a return in the Target app, completing it in the Drive Up lane.

While exciting, Target has not released an exact date or information on which stores will be included in the program. That being said both Northgate and Pike Plaza stores offer the Drive Up service so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that Seattle is included in store’s participating in the program.
