While Seattle has certainly had its ups and downs in the past year, it turns out that the city is highly desirable. In fact, Seattle just ranked as the most desired post-graduation destination for college students in a new study. Not LA, not New York but Seattle… looks like we’re moving up in the world.

The ranking was determined thanks to data from the Axios-Generation Lab Next Cities Index, it “tracks rising U.S. work and culture trends through geographic preferences.”

What are Seattle’s work and culture trends? Can you guess? Tech.

Other than tech draws noted by Axios included our “cool climate, green-energy embrace and music and art scene” its worth noting that “Seattle also drew a more bipartisan appeal.” Even more interesting is that among other cities Austin, Texas, was the top choice for young Republicans, New York was the top choice for young Democrats and the Emerald City, the top choice for independents.

All in all here are the top 5 destinations:

  1. Seattle
  2. New York
  3. Los Angeles
  4. Denver
  5. Boston

So if you yourself happen to be in the rainy city and are contemplating a move, you might just want to check out one of those other top 5 cities. If you’d like more details you can head over to Axios website.
