It’s always quite an adventurous time in Seattle. This week is no different, because, despite it being October, we’re experiencing a heat wave and breaking records. Pretty weird huh? Well, the good news is that real fall weather is on the way and here’s when you can expect it.
If this past weekend felt warm, you weren’t imagining it. Temperatures around the sound were high with Seattle at 80 degrees, breaking a 29-year-old heat record set in 1993.

That’s not all though, those high temperatures lead to three consecutive days of over 75-degree temperatures. That record is a first-timer, guess 2022 is going in the books.
…yay, we did it… 3 consecutive days of 75+ degree days in a row in October, for the first time ever… go us… 🙄

So when is it all finally cooling down? The answer is mixed, it certainly won’t be 80 degrees, but the 7-day forecast from NWS still lists daily temperatures in the low 70s. So it’s not exactly typical October weather, but it is steadily cooling down over the next few weeks. That being said, the monthly outlook from NWS still categorizes the PNW at 33-40% above average temperatures.
Dare we say, a tropical fall? In the meantime, we’ll keep our fingers crossed for cooler temperatures. Have a great week, Seattle!
