The weather is warming up again and spring is on the horizon! That means it won’t be long before Vancouver transforms into a sea of pink for the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival (VCBF) which includes this year’s Sakura Days Japan Fair.
The two-day celebration is a huge part of the VCBF, bringing together a mix of Japanese traditions, including live performances, culinary offerings, and Japanese theatre and crafts.
Guests can savour premium sake, participate in a traditional tea ceremony, enjoy taiko drumming performances and woodworking demos, and discover a range of local businesses.
According to the fair’s website, the large majority of Sakura Days will take place outdoors at VanDusen with a select number of vendors and experiences taking place indoors.
“We have maintained the increased numbers of food vendors and the extremely popular Yukata Dressing Tent,” reads the website. “The Floral Stage is back as a second performance stage.”
Early bird tickets are on sale online for $20 per adult, $16 per senior, and $8 per child (children aged four and under enter for free). Prices jump up to $26, $21, and $11 respectively on the day of.
Note that each ticket has a timed entry to ensure a smooth experience for all fair-goers.
