If you’re wondering what Ryan Reynolds is up to lately, we’ve got one new project to share. The Vancouver-born & raised actor dropped this tweet on Thanksgiving Monday after seeing his comedic idol John Candy trending on Twitter.

Oh, and John’s son Christopher Candy even retweeted it!

Legendary comedian, actor, and family man John Candy certainly needs no introduction, but we’ll give one anyway. The beloved Canadian actor starred in 44 films in his 43 years – and while his career took some occasional dips, he always got right back up to do what he did best: Making people laugh. His big-hearted nature and “goofy” persona landed him iconic roles in a slew of Hollywood classics, including Uncle Buck (1989) and Planes, Trains, & Automobiles (1987), alongside Steve Martin.

As for the documentary plans, it looks like Reynolds is working with Colin Hanks, American actor (King Kong, Orange County, The Good Guys, etc) and son of Tom Hanks.

While we’re a bit short on details at the moment, we couldn’t be more excited about this project. It’s clear that Reynolds has a deep appreciation and love for John Candy and his family – and we’re sure no one is more up to the task of covering his incredible career.

Well, that’s all for now, Vancouver. We’ll check back in soon!
