Ready for an exciting new movie preview? Ryan Reynolds is starring in a film titled IF directed by beloved actor-director John Krasinski, and believe it or not, that’s just the start of the list when it comes to the star-studded cast.

On Monday, February 5th, the Vancouver-born actor dropped a preview for the movie alongside Randall Park, who plays into an old bit from The Office where he pretends to be John Krasinski.

“You’re not John Krasinski, you’re Randall Park. John Krasinski is much shorter and less Asian than you are,” Reynolds jokes in the preview.

Park plays it up even more, naming Krasinski’s wife and place of birth when questioned about the validity of his identity.

“Well, you just looked that up on Wikipedia,” Reynolds retorts.

The preview then cuts to a montage of behind-the-scenes moments from the movie that replace Krasinski with Park, similar to how scenes from The Office were shot twice to lean further into the joke.

While Park is sadly not acting in the full movie, the dedication to the running joke is commendable, and definitely ups the excitement!

Written and directed by (the real) John Krasinski, the new movie tells a story about childhood imagination filled with fluffy, loveable “IFs,” AKA Imaginary Friends. To put it in Reynolds’ terms, “imagine reconnecting with your inner child – and also your actual child.”

Alongside Reynolds are many big-name comedians and actors who will bring the story to life, including Steve Carell, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, and John Stewart – just to name a few.

As for when you can expect to see the film on the silver screen, mark your calendars for May 2024.

So there you have it, Vancouver. Stay tuned for more details as they come!
