You can bring your dog to one of Washington’s most scenic beaches & here’s where

Washington is abundant with nature from beaches to mountains, we truly have it all. And as amazing as our state and national park system is, you can’t bring your four-legged friends to all parks. Except you can bring your dog to Ruby Beach, one of Washington’s most spectacular beaches.

Ruby Beach is part of Olympic National Park, located along the west coastline of the park. What makes it so special is its diversity and picturesque nature. Visitors will find an abundance of driftwood, massive sea stacks, and awe-inspiring tide pools. There is much to explore both visually and physically and it’s sure to be a fun place to explore with your pup.

Ruby Beach and Kalaloch Beach are located on the southwest coast of the Olympic Peninsula. Both beaches are accessible directly off Highway 101. Keep in mind that campgrounds at Kalaloch and South Beach are the only places to camp on the southern coast of the park. While Kalaloch is open year-round and has 175 campsites, sites fill up quickly and most are booked throughout the summer.

That being said if you can’t find a place to camp, Ruby Beach is still well worth the day trip if you’re up for a drive. You can also go the extra mile and check out the stunning Hoh Rainforest which is only a 45-minute drive from the beach.
