With summer just around the corner, Washington is in full bloom. Our farmer’s markets are popping off and soon so will our state’s lavender fields. Pelindaba Lavender is one of the many wonderful local farms and you can actually visit their fields for free. Here’s what to know about the farm.

Pelindaba Lavender is an organic lavender farm that’s completely free and open to the public. They grow the fragrant purple flower and create over 200 handcrafted products which are available to purchase at their Gatehouse Farm Store. Visitors also have the option of visiting the cutting field when the flowers are in bloom to harvest and purchase their own lavender.

Keep in mind the height of bloom season is coming up, typically running from July to August.

Beyond walking through the fields the farm is also open to having small gatherings like family picnics, book club get-togethers, small vow renewals or elopement, family, engagements, weddings, pet or other photo shoots, and even yoga in the fields.

It’s worth noting that you can also bring well-behaved pets but as this is a working organic farm, you must clean up after them.

It’s not every day that you come across a farm that is so generous and open with their visitations. So with that in mind be sure to follow and respect any and all rules and make sure to clean up after yourself. Enjoy!
