Almost everyone has a favourite spot to view the sunset and the city skyline, but we’d argue that it’s from the seat of an Edmonton River Valley Swing where you’ll get the most out of your sight-seeing adventure.

While many of you may have swung along the banks and through the trees of Kinnaird and Floden Park, others have no idea that these features exist, after all, they’re supposed to be ‘a secret’ – though not a very well-kept one.

In fact, both the River Valley’s beach swing and the Floden Park swings (2 of 3 that are said to be hidden along the North Saskatchewan River) have their own Google listings.

Confidential or not, they really are worth a visit – however, we’d recommend you bring bug spray, decent shoes and some patience – especially if you’re visiting the beach location.

Over the years, it has been made easier with social media and the many blog posts that have been written on it – but this one, in particular, is still tough to get to.

Hidden down a steepish hill, adventurers are encouraged to watch their step and be careful, especially if they’re heading down in the evenings.

It’s also recommended that you be respectful and gentle with any of the swings you come across.

Rumour has it some of them may have been up since 2015, but not without repairs. Heck, we can’t even guarantee that they’ll still be hanging when you read this – so please be respectful.

They’re meant to be enjoyed by as many people as possible, but that certainly hasn’t stopped vandals and rowdy folk from taking joy rides and breaking them.

Anywho – good luck finding them, enjoy and tag us in your photos! We want to see ’em all.
