5 Remembrance Day ceremonies you can attend this year in Edmonton

With November 11th just around the corner, many will be looking to attend ceremonies and services in and around the city. From the military museum to the field of crosses, here are 5 Remembrance Day events that you can attend in Edmonton this month.

BEAUMONT COMMUNITY CENTRE REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY

Whether online or in person, Edmontonians are encouraged to attend this year’s November 11th ceremony at the Beaumont Community Centre. Guests are welcome to lay a wreath as long as they contact the venue ahead of time and veterans will be sat at the front of the service.

REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY AT THE JEWISH FEDERATION OF EDMONTON

Join your fellow Edmontonians for a moving ceremony at the Jewish Federation of Edmonton. All will be welcome for the service which is set to begin at 10:30 outside the cenotaph.

When: Friday, November 11th, 2022
Where: #100, 10220 – 156 Street
Time: 1030 am

NATIONAL REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY 

The largest ceremony in Canada, this incredible event encourages all Canadians to stand in collective remembrance of those who have served and fallen in the military. During this service, people all over the country can pay their respects with a performance of the Last Post, prayers, two minutes of silence and more.

LEDUC REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY 

As a way to honour those who have given their lives, the city of Leduc will hold a moving ceremony at the Co-op Fieldhouse this month. If of course, you are unable to attend, this event will also be live-streamed on their website.

BEVERLY MEMORIAL CENOTAPH

Honouring soldiers past and present, the annual ceremony at the Beverly Memorial Cenotaph has returned. In addition to the traditional moment of silence and wreath laying, this particular event will also have a parade and a moving service held outdoors.
