This once-in-a-lifetime luxury train trip travels around the world and is stopping in Canada in 2025

If travelling the world by luxury train sounds like your idea of heaven, you’re not alone. The immensely sought-after Railbookers’ ‘Around the World’ trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, taking passengers through 12 countries and over 20 iconic cities across the globe.

Fair warning – the experience does not come cheap in the slightest – but considering the sheer number of bucket list items you’ll be able to cross off in one go, it might just be worth saving for!

About the trip

The 59-day trip starts in Vancouver, British Columbia, passing through the spectacular Canadian Rockies and parts of Alberta, including Jasper, Lake Louise, and Banff aboard the Rocky Mountaineer.

From there, passengers hop on a flight to Edinburgh, where they’ll kick off the European leg of their trip. Passengers get to take it all in aboard Scotland’s Belmond Royal Scotsman, Itality’s La Dolce Vita Orient Express, and Europe’s Venice Simplon-Orient Express.

These trains will pass through Edinburgh, Rome, Venice, Portofino, Verona, Paris, Budapest, Bucharest, and Istanbul.

After that, travellers head to India aboard India’s Maharajas Express, where they’ll stop in Delhi, Jaipur, Ranthambore, Agra, and Varanasi.

Then, the South Africa leg of the trip will begin, taking passengers through Johannesburg, Victoria Falls, Cape Town, and Stellenbosch on South Africa’s Rovos Rail.

Finally, we come to the last leg of the incredible experience in Southeast Asia on the Eastern & Oriental Express, which will traverse through Singapore.

Iconic global landmarks you’ll get to cross off your bucket list include the Taj Mahal, the world’s largest waterfall, the historic Edinburgh Castle and the streets of ancient Istanbul.

Pricing and accommodations

As you might guess, this one-of-a-kind travel experience comes with a hefty price tag of $168,498 per person.

While this includes all luxury accommodations and stays, excursions, and private tours of global landmarks, it does not include the majority of the international flights – with only the flight from Victoria Falls to Cape Town included.

2025 trip

The Railbookers’ next trip around the world will depart from Vancouver next September, so start saving now and keep this incredible trip bookmarked!

Those interested in booking individual legs of the trip can opt-in to receive more info as it comes.
