Ready or not, Canada! This week, daylight saving time will end for Alberta, but it’s not all bad!
On Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, people from coast to coast will actually gain an hour of sleep as we “fall back” in line with the chillier months.
According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, Canadians who recognize daylight saving time (DST) should set a reminder to adjust their watch and microwave at 2 am local time.
Most devices, like your phones and TVs will reset on their own and won’t reset again until Sunday, March 9th, 2025.
While we don’t know exactly what the future holds, it’s not likely going to happen anytime soon.
in 2021 Alberta did a province-wide survey in which 50.2% of Albertans voted to continue adjusting their clocks twice a year, along with most of British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, and parts of Ontario (to name a few).
“The results of the referendum are binding,” they explain. “Alberta will continue changing their clocks twice a year.”
So there you have it.
We may not enjoy doing it, but you’ll adjust quickly and it’ll be here before you know it.
