You can wander through 12 haunted rooms at this historic Alberta hotel

This Halloween, Jasper’s historic Astoria Hotel is transforming into an immersive haunted house, inviting you to step into 12 themed rooms filled with live scare actors and interactive puzzles.

The Astoria Haunted Hotel is part of Jasper’s Halloween takeover, which will feature ghost tours, themed parties, and after-dark events spread throughout the mountain town,

The Astoria Haunted Hotel will run for two nights only, but before you book your visit, here’s what to know about the experience and what you can expect when you step inside.

What to expect at the Astoria Haunted Hotel

What is the Astoria Haunted Hotel?

The Astoria Hotel was built in Jasper in 1925 and has been welcoming travellers to the mountain town for nearly a century.

This Halloween, the hotel is partnering with Jasper Theatre Productions to transform 12 rooms into a haunted experience built around a fictional mystery. During the event, you can make your way through the rooms, encounter live performances, and solve interactive puzzles as the story unfolds.

Is the event family-friendly?

The event will be split into two different experiences, so you can choose the level of fright that best suits your group. The earlier session is family-friendly, while the later session is for adults looking for a more intense scare.

When is the event?

The Astoria Haunted Hotel will run for two nights only: Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31. The family-friendly experience will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m., followed by the After Dark session from 8 to 10 p.m. both evenings.

How much are tickets?

Tickets cost $17.31 for youth ages 9 to 17 and $27.96 for adults; children under 7 can attend for free. Adult tickets also include a complimentary drink at De’d Dog Bar or Papa George’s. Tickets can be purchased online through Eventbrite or at the hotel front desk.
