Couldn’t make it to Vancouver’s inaugural Lapu-Lapu Day Block Party this spring? Not to worry, because Filipino Heritage Month here, and so is this year’s Pinoy Festival, which is coming up this weekend!

The annual festival invites all to experience a taste of the Philippines, with plenty of opportunities to learn about Filipino culture, history, and food. What’s more, the festivities are completely free to attend!

Visitors can peruse a variety of Filipino street food vendors and food trucks, enjoy traditional dances and cultural performances, and dance along to live Filipino bands in the Pinoy rock scene.

There will also be a beer garden with BBQ and live music called the Adivay Beer + BBQ + Music Garden, ‘adivay’ meaning ‘coming together and having fun’ in the native Ibaloi. Here, guests can gather with friends old and new to experience a fusion of Filipino and ancient Cordillera cultures.

Finally, visitors can check out an Art and Painting exhibit, a Grand Tianggehan (marketplace), and a Grand Santacruzan (traditional beauty pageant).
