The People’s Choice: ‘The Last of Us’ star Pedro Pascal accepts award from Vancouver

Attention, The Last of Us fans. Your favourite post-apocalyptic lead Pedro Pascal was just recognized by the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, and he’s about to join the rest of the cast in filming the show’s second season.

On Sunday, February 18th, the beloved actor received the People’s Choice for Male TV Star, accepting the award via satellite from Vancouver.

“I’ll start by recognizing the incredible fortune of having been chosen by the incredible creators of the show, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, our executive producer Caroline Strauss, and to be with Bella Ramsey leading me through it,” Pascal starts. “Seriously, I wouldn’t have a character without them.”

The actor then shouts out the show’s crew team and the fans that have popularized the show.

“The biggest fortune is to receive this award on behalf of the people, the fans. At the end of the day, it’s all about you.”

Season 2 filming info

While filming of the first season took place in Calgary, Edmonton, and tons of other well-known locations in Alberta, season 2 will be filmed right here in Vancouver and the PNW.

What’s more, the season will officially commence filming on Tuesday, February 20th, and will wrap up on September 9th. So you’ve got plenty of time to catch the cast in action!

Since accepting the award, fans in Vancouver have already begun to spot the actor out and about in the area.
