‘Pedal Pubs’ have finally arrived in Toronto & here’s what to expect

Just in time for summer, pedal-powered pubs have finally arrived in Toronto. However, the Pedal Pub experience in Toronto will have a bit of a caveat to it, thanks to provincial liquor laws.

Pedal Pub is essentially a mobile pub where fifteen people hop on a bike and pedal their way to three breweries and bars over the course of two hours.

While some cities allow you to use the Pedal Pub for its original intended purpose (to drink on board), Toronto does not. That means absolutely no alcohol is allowed on board, but don’t worry, there will be no shortage of boozy fun on your tour.

Here’s how it works — once you’ve checked in and gotten the safety spiel from your Pedal Pub pilot, you’ll bike around the downtown core to some of Toronto’s most popular spots, including stackt Market, Northern Maverick Brewing Co., and Steam Whistle Brewery Biergärten.

“Amazing service and no lineups are all a part of the deal, so you can focus on having a great time with your friends,” Pedal Pub told Curiocity in an email.

The experience will definitely feel like a party, with tunes blasting and singing encouraged. You even have the option to cover your Pedal Pub with decorations.

You’ll have 30 minutes to spend at each stop and are welcome to stay as long as you want at the final destination.

Pedaling is part of the fun, of course, but if you’d rather kick back and take it easy, there are five non-pedaling seats on board.

You’ll need at least eight people to keep the Pedal Pub moving, but it can accommodate up to 15. You can also snag an individual seat starting at $54.

Bookings will go live online this Friday, June 17th at 3 pm and tours will officially start running on Saturday, June 25th.

If you’ve always wanted to give this unique activity a try, you can finally do so this summer in the city!
