Michelin-recommended restaurant to host outdoor paella series in Vancouver

Here’s a tasty tradition in Vancouver to get excited about. For the third year in a row, Mount Pleasant’s Michelin-recognized spot for Spanish tapas, ¿CóMO? Taperia, is teaming up with Paella Guys to kick off patio season the best way they know how – with their popular outdoor paella series.

Last year, Chef Javier Blanc and his team earned second place in the coveted World Paella Day Cup competition in Spain. And this year? They’re back to present Vancouver residents with some of the most flavourful, authentic paella around.

“We absolutely love working with Chef Javier Blanc and his team and with this being our third Patio Paella Series, we are definitely turning this into an annual event,” says Shaun Layton, co-owner of ¿CóMO? Taperia.

So come rain or shine, the delicious series is here to stay. Taking place across eight Sundays this spring and summer from May 19th to September 1st, the dining experience will also offer guests the chance to purchase ¿CóMO?’s newest dishes and drinks.

This includes the Costillas Fritas (fried pork ribs), Pulpo Con Papas with Spanish octopus, confit potatoes, and Milanesa de Cerdo.

As guests arrive for their reservation, they can watch the Paella Guys prepare the paella live on a large steel pan that feeds up to 60 people at a time.

Each plate of paella includes chicken, shrimp, jumbo prawns, red peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomato, olive oil, garlic and saffron, topped with housemade garlic aioli.

Tickets are currently on sale online for $28 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

Each ticket includes an individual-sized plate of Paella Mixta (chicken, seafood, and vegetables), and can be purchased in groups of two to four people. Note that guests can choose from three seating times: One at noon, 2 pm, and 4 pm.

So if you’re ready for an outdoor cookout-meets-Spanish-feast, you won’t have long to wait. The sun isn’t going anywhere, and the long weekend is just around the corner!

Mark your calendars and snag some tickets, paella lovers.
