Toronto’s CN Tower spotted in new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer

Fans have been patiently waiting for the new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer to drop and finally got a look into the action-packed movie. Marvel released the trailer on Monday, April 22nd, with eagle-eyed Canadian fans noticing a brief cameo from Toronto’s largest landmark – the CN Tower.

The trailer for the upcoming movie is 2 minutes and 38 seconds long and if you blink, you may miss the CN Tower cameo.

The CN Tower can be seen among debris and rubble if you look closely at the right-hand side of the screen at the 34-second mark.

So, what does it mean?

While Toronto isn’t a theme we’ve seen come up in the previous X-Men, Wolverine or Deadpool movies, fans suspect it may be a tie to the lead character’s Canadian connections.

Ryan Reynolds is a proud Canadian himself, born in Vancouver, BC and so is his character, Deadpool aka Wade Wilson.

According to Marvel, Wilson was “born in Canada, but grew up to become the least Canadian person ever.”

Turns out, Wolverine is Canadian too.

Wolverine aka James Howlett was born to wealthy John and Elizabeth Howlett in Alberta, Canada, during the last years of the 19th century!

None of these places are near Toronto, but it’s the best guess we could come up with and it’s still pretty cool.

Deadpool & Wolverine hits theatres on July 26th, 2024 and maybe we’ll get to find out more about why the CN Tower appears.
