There are few celebrities as beloved as Pedro Pascal and after spending nearly a year filming in and around the province of Alberta, Calgary residents have decided there’s no person better for the position of year’s Stampede Parade Marshal than Joel Miller, himself.
Signed by nearly 5,300 people (at the time of publication), fans of The Last of Us, Narcos and Game of Thrones have started a petition to place the actor front line and centre for the event, which will mark the beginning of the 2023 Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.

Held almost every July since the Stampede’s inception, the organization has seen Bing Crosby, Walt Disney, Prince Charles, Chris Hadfield, William Shatner and Kevin Costner take the lead – but this year, the hope is to add the Mandalorian to this list!
As we mentioned above, Pascal is no stranger to the city, having filmed HBO’s new hit show here last in 2021 and 2022.
In that time, it sounds like he really came to love the province – taking every opportunity to rave about everything from the people and restaurants to its geography within the area.
To us, it makes perfect sense and if you’re on board, let your voices be heard!
To sign the petition for yourself, you can check it out now. Let’s get Pedro Pascal back to Calgary this summer – though we’d also settle for a season 2 revisit from everyone behind The Last Of Us.
