The Lower Mainland’s ‘most affordable water park’ has a lazy river and a covered hot tub

Known as the most affordable water park in the Lower Mainland, The Outdoor Experience at the Aldergrove Community Centre is a great place to bring the family for a fun afternoon in the sun. Complete with a lazy river, a 25-metre pool, and a covered hot tub, there’s a dip for everyone here. And it’s under an hour away from Vancouver!

Open rain or shine, the water park features waterslides with some of the best views in the park, as well as a tidal pool with beach entry.

The Canyon Creek river channel has fun water play features like sprays and tipping buckets that make the experience even more thrilling for all ages.

And for younger children, the Big Top splashpad is the perfect spot to splash around safely.

How to register

As the water park does not accept drop-ins, you’ll need to register ahead of time to enjoy the facilities.

Township residents can register for general water park sessions 10 days in advance of each one, while non-township residents can register seven days in advance of their visit.

The Township adds that special event registration opens seven days in advance for both Township and non-Township residents.

The first step, however, is opening a recreation account online. You’ll add your home address, phone number, and household family members’ names and birthdates to your account, completing setup. It’s recommended that you do this at least five days prior to when you want to register.

How much is admission?

Ready to get your laps in? Water park admission is priced at $10.25 per adult, $6.50 for youth, and $5.05 per child. Children aged three and under can enter the water park for free.

Note that there are no “in and out” privileges, so make sure you bring everything you need upon entering.

A couple more ground rules to make note of before you visit:

  • Children aged under seven years old must be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times
  • Floaties and lifejackets are not permitted on the waterslides or in the hot tub
  • Lounge chairs and picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis

  • Fridays: 5 to 7:30 p.m.
