Concert season is nearing, and so are longer summer days (and nights). When it comes to a classic summertime experience, it doesn’t get much better than a concert at Stanley Park’s historic Malkin Bowl, which has seen every genre of Canadian talent take the stage, from Blue Rodeo to bbno$.
According to Destination Vancouver, the bowl was built in 1934 thanks to former Vancouver Mayor W.H. Malkin, who wanted to commemorate his late wife. While the venue is open year-round, it’s best known as a summertime spot for international touring performances and live musical theatre.
In addition to hosting all kinds of touring concerts and shows, the Malkin Bowl is the official home of Stanley Park’s beloved outdoor theatre experience, Theatre Under the Stars, which will feature two iconic shows this upcoming season: The Sister Act and The Little Mermaid.
Mark your calendars!
