The season of spring blooms has arrived, and later this season, we have the Oshawa Peony Festival to look forward to.

The festival is returning for its 11th year in a row, attracting thousands of people from all over to its gorgeous display of blooming peonies.

This event is so popular that it has been recognized among Ontario’s top 100 festivals.

There are 300 types of peonies on display in the Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens during the weekend-long festival.

In addition to the flower display, visitors will get to enjoy an artisan vendor market, live music, gardening demonstrations, a judged peony show, an art competition, and more.

In a press release by the city of Oshawa, the festival is described as “one of Ontario’s most highly anticipated and popularly attended events that attracts visitors from across Canada and around the world.”

There are so many flower-centric events and experiences to enjoy this spring in southern Ontario.

A tulip-picking farm is opening for the season in the Niagara region this month, and an iconic lilac festival is coming to Northumberland this spring.

And now that cherry blossom season is underway, there is a Japanese sakura festival taking place in Burlington in May.

It’s time to start enjoying this gorgeous time of year to the fullest!
