Lions and tigers and bears (oh my!) The Calgary Zoo will also be open this Monday – just remember to bundle up! Things could get a little bit chilly this weekend.

Movie Theatres
Whether you’re hoping to catch The Exorcist: Believer or My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, you’re in luck! Landmark Cinemas, Cineplex and Calgary’s cheap theatre, Canyon Meadows, will all be open all weekend long – including holiday Monday.
Malls
Good news! Though we’d recommend checking their hours beforehand, Southcentre Mall, CrossIron Mills, CF Chinook Centre, CF Market Mall and The CORE Shopping Centre will all be open on October 9th,
Grocery and Liquor Stores
Need milk or a bottle of wine for the table? You’re in luck. Though (again) we’d recommend checking your local stop hours, most liquor and grocery stores will be open this Monday.

Rollercoasters just aren’t your thing? This Thanksgiving Calgarians will be able to visit several in-city museums like Studio Bell and the Military Museum. Happy learning!

Heritage Park
Go back in time this Thanksgiving at Heritage Park! Open between 10 am and 5 pm, Calgarians can check out old-timey buildings, shops and carnival rides as well as a big Thanksgiving meal at the Selkirk

While transit will be operational on Monday, October 9th, CTrains, busses and On-Demand transport will run on their Sunday schedule, so plan accordingly, folks!
Closed
Impound Lots
As per their website, Calgary Parking Authority impound lots will be closed on October 9th this year. In addition, no payment is required for on-street parking, though holiday rates will be in effect at select parkades and select surface lots.
City-Owned Recreations Centres
Sorry, folks – but this Monday, most city-owned pools, as well as fitness and rec centres, will be closed in lieu of the Stat holiday. Don’t worry though, it won’t be long until they reopen.
Post Office
Whether it’s an Amazon return or an invitation – it’ll have to wait! This Monday (and every stat holiday) the post office will be closed.
Costco

While grocery and convenience stores will be open this Friday, Costco will be unshoppable this Monday. Looks like you’ll have to get your massive hot do fix before or after October 9th!
