No points for creativity for this driver. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle in Caledon this week with mattresses strapped to the roof, and clearly, the driver was trying to be resourceful with their approach.
The mattresses were stacked on top of each other and held together by a bedsheet. The driver also recruited a few passengers to hold it down by hand during the trip.
“If the sheet fits…you still might not want to use it,” OPP tweeted on Friday morning. “Please use your head when transporting your bed.”
In addition to the public humiliation, OPP said that the driver got slapped with a $160 fine.

There’s never a dull moment on Ontario’s roads. In October, a person was charged for playing a flute solo and following along with an iPod while driving in Burlington.
Also in October, police in Peel Region shared an audio clip of a driver who called 9-1-1 because he had to pee.
In August, a driver was fined for driving a car filled to the brim with empty beer cans. And all too often, drivers use their arts and crafts skills for the wrong purpose and draw on a fake license plate with a permanent marker.
Who knew being a traffic cop in Ontario could be so entertaining?
