Nightlife is resuming in the city after a very long hiatus, and CODA Toronto is getting in on the action. The two-floor club on Bathurst St. is inviting people back to its dancefloor for the REBOOT 8-part event series, and entry is free before 10:30 p.m. — you’ll just have to get there early enough to secure your spot, now that capacity limits are in place.

REBOOT will showcase Canada’s top electronic recording artists, “from established veterans to up and coming, cutting edge artists,” says the event page. Tonight is the opening night of the music series and will feature performances by Ciel, Daniel 58, Korea Town Acid, Pursuit Grooves, and Yohei S.

“It’s time to Reboot our scene in support of the artists, producers, industry workers, and venues that make it happen,” says the website. Four more REBOOT nights are listed on the club’s event schedule, followed by multiple shows in October, November, and December.

To comply with COVID-19 regulations, masks must be worn at all times inside unless you’re eating or drinking. Doors open at 9 p.m. and there’s a $20 cover charge if you arrive after 10:30 p.m.

The REBOOT events will run from Friday, August 13th to August 29th, and you can see the whole lineup of artists here.

Back in February, the club urged the public to post photos and videos of their best memories at CODA in order to bring awareness to their struggling industry. “64% of the live music industry in Canada is at risk of permanent closure,” the club wrote at the time. It took six months to get here, but they made it!
