Coffee shop lovers, we’ve got some amazing news to share. After almost a year of build-up, Novella Coffee Bar is finally set to open in Mount Pleasant. And the breakfast/brunch spot is slated to open this very week.

Coming from the folks behind the acclaimed Published on Main, Novella is a multi-concept cafe, grocery store, and hangout spot. Think along the lines of other Vancouver greats like Le Marché St. George and Aperture – with a heightened food program curated by an exceptional team.

Led by Chef Ashley Kurtz and Executive Chef Gus Stieffenhofer-Brandson, the culinary team will serve up everything from pastries to plates of savoury steel-cut oats.

Among their partners are House of Funk Roasting and Butterboom Bakery.

So in terms of coffee, guests can expect to sip on some truly top-notch blends, all sustainably sourced. This includes House of Funk’s award-winning Technicolour Espresso, which Novella has shared will be available as soon as they open their doors.

And in terms of pastries, it really doesn’t get much better than Butterboom’s classic croissants and laminated pastries. Although, the two teams plan to debut “a couple of exclusive collaborative pastries” at Novella that might just change the game altogether.
