A beautiful private island has come up for sale in BC

We have to admit that of all the properties we talk about, we get the most excited when a private island goes up for sale in BC. It’s the perfect combination of just a completely out-there opportunity, and more often than not, a relatively reasonable price point.

Which is exactly the case with Norway Island. Located in the Southern Gulf Islands just north of Salt Spring, Norway Island offers 30-acres of mostly untouched beauty, some amenities, and a pretty decent price. After all, these days $5,999,999 gets you like a mid-tier mansion in Vancouver, which is way less cool. Most the time, at least.

On to the island itself! It’s apparently “situated in the heart of yachting paradise”, so it makes sense that it has a 60 foot dock for you to pull up on. Of course, it’s also accessible by float plane and has a helicopter landing pad, just in case boats aren’t your jam.

As for amenities, there are currently 3 dwellings on the island, including a main house and a log cabin for guests to stay in. But, we should note that these guys are “in need of a new vision”. So maybe expect to have to put a little elbow grease, and a fair bit of cash, to get them up to your standards.

And for fun bonuses, it should be noted that the island comes with an outdoor pool (which apparently holds some 60,000 gallons) and that the helipad doubles as a tennis court (nice!). If it were us, though, we’d absolutely put in a couple of seaside golf holes, just to stay loose in the summer months.

Boy, wouldn’t that be the life, hey? Wake up early, head onto the patio to do some whale-watching, practice some golf and play a little tennis, then maybe hop in the boat for an afternoon cruise. If that ain’t a perfect way to spend the day, then we don’t know what is.

So, if you’ve got the cash, then maybe check out this private island for sale in BC. Who knows, you might just be able to find a few friends to go in on it with you!
