North Van’s newest can’t-miss spot is serving up wild combos of fried chicken & donuts

After almost a year of waiting, Cream Pony has officially opened in North Vancouver! This new spot on Lonsdale Ave is sure to become a staple in the community, and now’s the time to try it out. Need a refresher on what to expect while you’re there? We’ve got you covered, friends!

There are two things on the mind at Cream Pony- donuts and fried chicken. Specifically, donuts made using a brioche dough and extra-crispy buttermilk battered fried chicken. Yeah, this isn’t exactly the spot to go when you’re on a health kick. More like as a cheat day treat.

And boy, what a cheat day it will be. The donuts range from old-fashion to cruellers to special creations and collaborations (like a stout-filled version for a pop-up recently). Meanwhile, the fried chicken is best enjoyed in a hot or mild sandwich, with maybe a couple of sides alongside it.

Of course, the forbidden fruit here is to just smush a piece of chicken between two donuts and go for it. Yes, we’re going to try it and yes, we’re going to need two days on either side to prepare and recover. But honestly, we can’t wait!
