Pic Island is where you’ll find views worthy of a painting. The breathtaking view of Pic Island’s vistas and Thompson Channel inspired Group of Seven painter Lawren Harris.
If you want to take in the views yourself, just follow the park’s Pic Island Overlook Trail. Be sure to come prepared though as the trail runs 4.5km with a 9km return.
There are a handful of other trails to check out as well.
Don’t forget to pack a bathing suit, too!
Ontario Parks says that Neys boasts “one the finest sand beaches on Lake Superior’s north shore.”
“The bay is relatively shallow and sandy, so in the heat of the summer you are able to take a refreshing dip or surf in the notoriously cold Lake Superior and actually enjoy the experience,” Ontario Parks continues.
