New B.C. Netflix productions

Starring Miranda Cosgrove and Pierson Fodé, The Wrong Paris is a classic rom-com with a modern twist. It’s about a young woman who joins a dating show, thinking it’s in Paris, France, but it’s actually in Paris, Texas. Filmed in Agassiz and North Vancouver, the movie follows her process of trying to get eliminated and developing unexpected feelings for the bachelor.

To get specific, the film was shot at a local country bar in the Agassiz area, taking advantage of the mountain town’s authentic Western character and natural scenery.

Another filming location includes the 30-foot pool at Lynn Canyon, serving as a striking, romantic backdrop in a couple of scenes.

My Secret Santa is about a single mom who disguises herself as a man in order to get hired as the seasonal Santa at a luxury ski resort. Her plan gets complicated, however, when she starts to fall in love with the hotel manager. The holiday film was shot in Sun Peaks and Kamloops, including Sun Peaks Grand Hotel and Conference Centre, which will host a free community screening on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025.

Barnacle Records in Kamloops also served as a key filming location for the Christmas movie, according to Netflix.

Other new Netflix productions on the map include Alberta-filmed The Abandons, a western drama series starring Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson that follows the lives of two families in 1854. Wayward, a Merry Little Ex-mas, and Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein were also just added, all of which were filmed in Toronto and elsewhere in Ontario.
