In 1852, Pioneer Square became Seattle’s first official neighborhood. Over half a century has passed and Pioneer Square can easily claim that it’s one of the coolest ‘hoods in the city. We decided to take a little look at the best things that Pioneer Square has to offer and find our favorites. So we did! Here is our guide for how to spend a perfect day in Pioneer Square!

Morning

There is nothing better than starting off a great day with a good cup of coffee and a lovely breakfast. Good thing both of those are pretty easy to come across in Pioneer Square. Grab a breakfast bite from Biscuit Bitch or Planet Java Diner. They’re both unique, delicious spots, and a great way to start any day.

If you’re looking for something neat to do, look no further than Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour. It’s one of the top-ranked things to do in the entire city. You can also check out something a little more low-key at the Waterfall Garden Park. This 22-foot waterfall is a tucked away hidden gem, but it’s a favorite of plenty of Pioneer Square regulars.

Lunch & Afternoon

Pioneer Square has absolutely no shortage of food, so finding a place to stop for a bite to eat is pretty easy. Keep it casual and head to BRGR Bar for something fast and delicious. Or, slow things down with some Mediterranean fare from Cafe Paloma. Again, it’s hard to go wrong with all these options!

From there, take yourself on a little shopping stroll up and down Pioneer Square. You’ll find antique shops, boutiques, local vendors, high-fashion gems, and more. The diversity of the shops is actually ridiculously cool, so expect to spend at least a little on something unique. Treat yourself!

Dinner and a Drink

Central Saloon is Seattle’s oldest bar, but don’t let old-school vibes scare you off. This place is bumping live rock and roll every night of the week until 2 am. You can start here, finish here, have the whole night here…you can’t go wrong with Central Saloon.

Maybe a little Pioneer pub crawl is on your schedule? If so, you’re in the right spot. The Flatstick Pub is a classic option and includes a 9-hole miniature golf course inside. Next, you can head over to Dead Line to find top-notch food and cocktails that’ll put a pep in your step and hair on your chin.

Oh, we nearly forgot one of Seattle’s most timeless spots! Open 24 hours a day is the legendary 13 Coins Restaurant. Known for being a host of unforgettable experiences, 13 Coins is a Pioneer Square staple at any time, no matter what.

Now, there is a lot more that you can do in Pioneer Square, but we figured that’d be a good way to start. Get out there and enjoy this beautiful city!
