National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is coming up on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, and it’s a statutory holiday in B.C. As such, there may be some closures and holiday hours to make note of ahead of.
Also known as Orange Shirt Day to some, the day is dedicated to commemorating and reflecting upon the harmful legacies of the residential school system in Canada. It’s a day for listening to Indigenous voices, asking questions, and taking initiative in our continued learning and collective reconciliation efforts.
Before we dive into ways to observe the day this year, let’s go over what’s open and closed in and around Vancouver.
Aside from Sept. 30, most business hours should remain as usual.
Stay tuned for ways to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation this year.
