If you’re looking to do something this holiday season that’s more reflective than it is festive, tune in.  Music on Main is returning to Heritage Hall this December with a special musical celebration in honour of this year’s Winter Solstice.

And while it doesn’t technically fall on the astronomical first day of winter, it’s set to provide audiences with all the warmth and candlelight they’ll need to weather through these cold winter nights ahead.

Music for the Winter Solstice will take place across two days, featuring musical favourites from past years like Caroline Shaw’s Winter Carol and the Wyrd Sisters‘ Solstice Carole.

Both performances will feature the return of four talented musicians: Rachel Kiyo Iwaasa on the piano, Robyn Jacob’s vocals and on the keyboard, Asitha Tennekoon singing tenor, and Jonathan Lo on the cello.

Both concerts will occur from 7:30 to 8:30 pm, on December 13th and 14th respectively.

This annual tradition typically sells out every year, so be sure to snag some tickets for $52 a pop (or $20 for students and arts workers) while you can!

So there you have it, Vancouver. If winter happens to be your favourite season, this is a great way to mark the transition.
