You can enjoy a FREE outdoor movie in a beloved Calgary park this summer

Ice cream tastes better on a hot day, soup tastes better in the winter, and popcorn tastes better outdoors! This summer, those looking for a little magic will find it in front of the big screen and under a blanket of stars during a beloved event in Calgary.

This September, the Sunalta and Scarboro Community Association will return with Movie in the Park, and if you act fast, you can still vote for which film flashes before your eyes.

What to expect

A charming experience that features food, fun, and friends, Movie in the Park is a beloved tradition where people from all over the city bring their own chairs and blankets, settling in for a night of tears, laughter, and excitement.

This year, like so many before it, anyone interested can vote for one of three films predetermined by the community, and the winner will be shown on the big screen.

This year’s films? Despicable Me 4, Super Mario Bros., and The Wild Robot.

If you’re interested, get there early, dress for the weather, and bring bug spray!

Movie in the Park is totally FREE to attend every year, and there will be snacks, including mini donuts, on site, so come hungry.

It all goes down on Sept. 12 at sunset, so mark it in your calendar!

You won’t want to miss it – especially if you’ve never seen any of these movies before.

Head to Sunalta’s website, get voting, and enjoy. You’re in for quite the treat.
