The longest trail in this Alberta park loops around a wetland & golden aspen trees

Wild Rose Country is lucky enough to have some incredible places to get some fresh air but in the fall, those who hit the dusty trail in Miquelon Lake Provincial Park, Alberta will find magic.

Here, there is no shortage of beautiful places to camp, wander, or bike, but the Grouse Loop is extra special.

What to know

The longest in the park, Grouse is connected to a series of other trails that wind through knob and kettle terrain.

Here, visitors will pass large wetlands and towering aspen trees which turn orange and yellow in the autumn.

The trail is also accented by a homestead and barn, which was built by early settlers between 1910 and 1920.

While it’s recommended that you only take photos of these buildings, it’s an incredible feature—one that sets this particular route apart from the others in the area.

Want to check it out?

According to Alberta Parks, guests can leave their vehicles at the Park Centre near the trailhead.

Heck, why not bring a few snacks and take in the scenery?

You never know, you might even see some of the resident wildlife.

Enjoy and be safe!

You’re in for a treat.
