Springtime is here again, but there’s still a chill in the air. Luckily, it won’t be long until you and yours can defrost at the Miette Hot Spring in Jasper, Alberta.

What to expect

Located west of Edmonton, this particular destination is said to have the hottest water in the Canadian Rockies and is surrounded by towering trees and mountain views.

Here, you’ll be able to enjoy the scenery and get some fresh air while checking out four pools — one of which is renowned for its impressive temperature.

According to Parks Canada, the warmest water flows from the mountain at 54°C before being cooled to 40°C (104°F), which is sure to keep you cozy and comfortable, especially in the chillier months.

When does the Miette Hot Spring reopen?

Sound like it’s worth a drive? The Miette Hot Spring will reopen in May 2025. 

Admission prices range from free (for children under 3) to $17.50 per adult, and locker tokens are included.

Small bites and bottled non-alcoholic beverages are available through vending machines, but there is no cafe or restaurant on site.
