Here’s when Vancouver’s Michelin Guide 2024 will be revealed

Grab your forks, foodies, because the Vancouver MICHELIN Guide for 2024 is set to be revealed in just under a month, which means more eyes than ever will be on the city’s best restaurants and eateries. So get ready to book some resos!

On Thursday, October 3rd, the MICHELIN Guide will reveal its selection of this year’s world-class restaurants, Bib Gourmand, and MICHELIN Green Star winners, inviting local chefs to gather at The Commodore for the unveiling.

“We can’t wait to see what year three has in store for the 2024 restaurant selection in Vancouver,” says Gwendal Poullennec, the International Director of the MICHELIN Guides. “The achievements and passion of the restaurant community shine in Vancouver and our anonymous Inspectors continue to be impressed by the talent they have witnessed firsthand.”

First published in France at the turn of the 20th century, the MICHELIN Guide has become a household name when it comes to identifying the most memorable meals and hospitality experiences across the globe.

Inspection criteria

The inspectors’ process is five-fold: To identify the best product quality, mastery of cooking techniques, harmony of flavours, the personalities of the chefs, and consistency over time.

According to the MICHELIN Guide, these criteria guarantee a fair selection – so a Starred restaurant in Paris or New York holds the same value as one in Vancouver and beyond.

If you’re keen on checking out some existing MICHELIN-approved eats, you don’t have to wait! Whether you’re craving Italian, Japanese, or going for brunch – it’s not a bad idea to eat your way through last year’s MICHELIN Guide.

The Guide is in Toronto as well, and has recently announced its third Canadian destination, Quebec.

Until then, bon appétit, Vancouver!
