Located about two hours by car from Toronto, Mara Provincial Park is a family-friendly spot offering all things outdoor activities from camping to birding, boating and of course swimming at the park’s popular beach.

According to Destination Ontario, “It is one of the most popular beaches in Lake Country for its size, cleanliness and facilities. The clear, shallow shoreline in the designated swimming area means the water is warm and safe for younger kids to splash about in. The swimming zone is open mid-June to early September.”

You’ll likely want to spend most of your day by the beach but if you need to stretch your legs or get some steps in there’s is a short nature trail in the park to stroll along.

If you enjoy fishing then you’re in luck, too! Lake Simcoe has great fishing and there are opportunities to catch sunfish, walleye, Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, perch and Lake Whitefish.

If you’re heading over for the day you’ll need a day/vehicle pass once you arrive, which starts at $12.25.

Your beach day at Mara Provincial Park awaits!
