There’s an Ontario park with a dreamy outdoor skating trail lined with lights

Talk about dreamy! MacGregor Point Provincial Park is one of the few Ontario Parks open this time of year and we’re sure glad it is. The park has a very special feature that draws in crowds once the weather gets cold – its outdoor skating trail.

The trail spans 400 metres as it winds through the woods, providing “an unforgettable outdoor experience.”

You in?

Getting there

To get to the skating trail, you’ll need to head over to MacGregor Point in Port Elgin, Ontario.

The park sits along the shores of Lake Huron and if you’re driving in from the Toronto/GTA area it should take you a little over three hours.

There is a day/vehicle fee to enter the park, starting at $12.25 per vehicle.

This whimsical trail will feel like you’re gliding around a winter wonderland.

According to Ontario Parks, “The park turns on the trail lights for skating under the stars until 10:00 pm every day of the week, and that’s when things get truly magical.”

Yep! You can glide around the forest while twinkling lights illuminate the 400-metre path.

If hockey is more your style, you’ll be happy to know that the park also has a large ice pad where hockey enthusiasts are invited to play.

There are also snowshoe trails located in the park’s Nipissing Campground, too.

A winter adventure awaits!
