After much anticipation, Calgary-based Lynx Air has finally launched today with five Canadian destinations, low-cost seats and a business model that does the absolute most for its customers.

As it was announced back in November, Lynx has adopted Europe’s revolutionary “low-cost carrier model” that allows travellers to really customize their experience.

With plans to expand its fleet to include 46 more planes over the next 7 years, the Canadian company only operates in 5 cities for now and they are:

  • Calgary Vancouver, Toronto, Winnipeg, Kelowna
  • Vancouver Calgary, Toronto, Winnipeg, Kelowna
  • Kelowna – Calgary, Vancouver
  • Toronto – Calgary, Vancouver
  • Winnipeg – Calgary, Vancouver

As for the cost?

Well, as promised, these flights are cheaper than most other airlines – with none of the destinations listed over $100.

As of launch day, prices on one-way flights range between $49 – $79, which is unheard of – even by those who frequently fly domestic.

The best part? There are no hidden fees either.

Everything on their website is laid out for you, with what is (one personal item, taxes & fare) and what isn’t (baggage) broken down before your payment is required.

Interested in taking a trip? Lynx Air’s inaugural flight will take place between Calgary and Vancouver on April 7th, 2022 with a single daily flight between these two travel hubs to follow until they add a second service come May 20th, 2022.
