Just a couple of hours southwest of Calgary, Lundbreck Falls offers one of Alberta’s most breathtaking sights.
At this waterfall, you will find stunning blue water plunging down the dramatic cliffs into the Crowsnest River. This is the ideal spot for families, nature lovers, photographers, or anyone looking to get out and enjoy some amazing mountain scenery.
Lundbreck Falls has plenty to do for everyone. Throughout the falls, there are several boardwalks and trails that give you amazing close-up views of the water.
Bring a lunch and enjoy the sound of the rushing water at one of the picnic areas, or go for a refreshing swim in one of the calmer areas at the falls.
If you’re feeling adventurous, take a hike along the river or through the nearby forest, or try out fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout.
Lundbreck isn’t just exclusive to day trips.
The recreation area offers both powered and non-powered campsites, plus 12 walk-in tenting sites for those who are looking for an overnight stay.
The falls are especially impressive in the spring and early summer when the river is full from the snowmelt.
Autumn at the falls brings bright foliage and beautiful backdrops, while winter turns into a quiet wonderland.
While the boardwalks let you safely view the water, it’s recommended to wear sturdy footwear while exploring.
If you love spending time outdoors, Lundbreck Falls should be added to your list of spots to visit this summer.
Hike the trails, enjoy a calming swim, or have a quiet picnic with amazing mountain views.
With camping options and stunning surroundings, it’s the perfect place to escape for a day trip or a full weekend.
