An illuminated experience is coming our way and it’s completely free to enjoy. Lumière: The Art of Light at Ontario Place will light up the waterfront with incredible works of art.

Formerly named the Winter Light Exhibition, this event will take over Trillium Park starting on March 10th.

The public is invited to explore the many installations made by Ontario artists throughout the late winter and spring.

“Utilizing innovation, light and discovery, Lumière encourages Ontario artists and creators to ‘illuminate’ the park,” the description says.

This year’s curatorial theme is “renewal”, which symbolizes the change of seasons from winter to spring.

Some of this year’s exhibitions include The Fantastical Book Garden, Disco Wall, Bloom Promenade, The Flora Arcana, Aeolian Soundscape, and more.

You can view all of the exhibitions ahead of time on the Ontario Place website.

Visitors can also stop by the bonfire, which will take place from 5 PM to 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the event, as well as Sunday, March 10th.

While you’re at it, you can travel along the waterfront to another outdoor art exhibition — the annual Winter Stations showcase at Woodbine Beach.

The Winter Stations public exhibition opens on February 20th and will remain on display until April 3rd.

You don’t need a budget to experience the best of the city. And you don’t need to wait for summer to enjoy the outdoors!
