We don’t know about you guys but we’re super pumped for the Seattle Kraken. And of course, we’re also super excited about our brand new Climate Pledge Arena. Which seems to be getting cooler and cooler by the day. So let’s take a peek at what’s happening inside.
In case you didn’t know, a lot has changed from the old Key Arena. The new hockey rink is now 60 feet below ground and the whole arena is about 800,000 square feet. And that’s double the size of the old Key Arena. So Seattle is taking a go big or go home mentality with this one.

And in the coming weeks, you can expect to see a new roof replace the iconic shape of Key Arena. But don’t worry, it’ll still be equally as cool. The arena just needed something a little more substantial for its nearly one billion dollar arena floor. And that’s completely understandable.
So in good news, construction is still on track to be completed next summer. And in the meantime, we’re sure we’ll continue to learn interesting new facts. Like the fact that rainwater from the roof will be used to resurface the ice nightly. Cool stuff right?
