A massive festival with food, music, and vendors will take over Calgary’s 4th Street next month

One of the year’s most anticipated events is just around the corner, and it’ll be more delicious, festive, and brighter than ever.

This June, the Calgary Lilac Festival will return, celebrating over 30 years of community, music, and local eats that you’ll definitely want to sink your teeth into.

What’s new in 2025?

Known and beloved by many, the Lilac Festival is a family-friendly event that occupies Calgary’s 4th Street year after year, and 2025 will be no exception.

Bustling with businesses, live music, and food trucks, this unforgettable event has become a YYC staple, getting bigger and better with age.

“The Lilac Festival is so much more than a street festival — it’s a celebration of Calgary’s creative spirit and cultural diversity,” said event producer Jennifer Rempel.

“What started as a small community event has grown into a citywide tradition. I’m incredibly proud of the team, the talent, and the heart that goes into making the Lilac Festival a place where Calgary comes alive.”

Want to check it out?

This year, guests can expect over 600 vendors, multiple performance stages, extended patios and, of course, music!

This spring, the Lilac Festival will launch a new partnership with Calgary artist Michael Bernard Fitzgerald and his latest project, Pocono House — a coworking community space for songwriters, artists, and producers within the city.

“Together, we’re curating two of the festival’s main stages, showcasing a vibrant mix of emerging songwriters and established performers,” they explain in a press release.

“With Michael’s artistic direction and long-time connection to Calgary’s music scene, this new partnership brings a fresh energy to the festival, rooted in creativity, collaboration, and community.”

In addition, 2025 will also feature the most diverse food and drink offerings in Lilac Festival history. From popular restaurants to artisanal producers that serve a variety of sweet treats and classics, there will be a little something for everyone.

Have kids? They will also have a Kids Zone at 18th Avenue and 4th Street with interactive entertainment, a kids rave, and creative experiences all day long.

The very best part?

Like all those before it, the Lilac Festival will be free to attend, so plan ahead and don’t miss it!

It’s going to be another wonderful year.
