If you’re always been drawn to lighthouses, this may be your chance to work at one. Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Canadian Coastguard are looking to hire lighthouse keepers in remote areas of BC. So if you’re looking for a job that gets you out of the city, you may have just found one.
Lighthouse-keeping duties include reporting local weather observations to MCTS, relaying radio messages, grounds maintenance, refuelling domestic diesel tanks, and painting buildings, decks, and walkways – for starters.
