Washington is full of festive towns and it turns out we have some of the most festive in the entire world. Who would’ve thought? Cone Nast Traveler just dropped its list of the 32 Best Places to Spend Christmas Around the World and a Washington town made the cut.

Conde Nast ranks the towns, cities, and destinations in no particular order so we’re in good company – equally.

If you love the idea of a Bavarian Christmas but don’t want to fly halfway across the world, you’re in luck. That’s because of Leavenworth of course! The Bavarian-inspired town is tucked in the Cascade Mountains and is full of perfectly themed buildings as well as close proximity to skiing, hiking, and more. It’s known for its light displays and has gotten lots of recognition for being one of the most Christmassy towns in the nation.

What does Conde Nast recommend doing? Visiting the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum of course! The museum has a collection of 9,000 nutcrackers from over 50 countries. It has to be one of Washington’s most unique museums and the perfect collection to view during the holiday season.

Where to stay? The publication recommends visiting Icicle Village Resort for its “relaxing spa, in-room fireplaces, and a restaurant serving up Bavarian favorites.” Of course, we also have to recommend Post Hotel for its Alps-inspired vibes and luxurious spa.
