This working saloon is over 100 years old & it’s located in an Alberta ‘ghost town’

The Badlands are one of a kind, but once you’ve worked up an appetite, few restaurants stand out quite like the Last Chance Saloon.

Located less than 20 minutes from Drumheller, the dinosaur capital of the World, you’ll find the once-bustling settlement of Wayne, Alberta.

With only 28 remaining residents, this historic destination is widely considered a ‘ghost town,’ but the restaurant is often visited by tourists exploring off the beaten path.

Originally built in 1913 across the street from a busy mine, ‘The Last Chance Saloon’ serves a variety of smoked meats, appetizers and desserts.

The food, however, is not the only reason to visit.

Here, black and white photos are displayed and old mining gear is scattered, but what’s more, bullet holes can be seen in the wall of the bar, which the owners say are from “fights the miners got into.”

If you’d like to check it out yourself, be their guest.

Once you’ve indulged you can also check out the Rosedeer Hotel, which is attached to the eatery and has 6 themed rooms which include the Titanic and Golf.

It truly is an interesting place with even more interesting stories.

Happy travelling!
