Feeling antsy? Ready to get out of the house? Well, get ready because Lake Washington Boulevard, from Mt. Baker Park to Stan Sayres Memorial Park is reopening soon. By reopening we mean that it’s going to be open to walking, rolling, & biking. But the road will only be car-free for a limited time. So keep on reading to find out more.
You might remember but during the middle of the pandemic, SDOT implemented the Stay Healthy Streets program. And one of the larger streets to be included in that program was Lake Washington Boulevard. So if you enjoyed getting to use the street car-free get excited because you can do so again from April 9th to 18th.

The street is now temporarily categorized as a “Keep Moving Street”. And we’ll be curious to see if this designation gets extended into summer. After all, Lake Washington Boulevard is an extremely popular destination for local sun and swim seekers. And while we’d love to see the street become a permanent walking and biking access-only road, we know that’s not likely.
