If you’re looking for swimming options around Seattle, check out Lake Sammamish State Park this summer.

Located close to Seattle, Lake Sammamish State Park is a perfect getaway during warm weather. It has two swimming beaches, trails, sandy volleyball courts, soccer fields and more.

According to Washington State Parks, you can “hike or bike one of the paved walking paths, compacted dirt or gravel trails to the wetlands for a chance to see a great blue heron or bald eagle. Take a break for the kids to play at the brand-new, state-of-the-art playground.”

This park also offers day-use facilities like barbeque grills, unsheltered picnic tables, and one sheltered table. These are available at Sunset and Tibbets beach areas on a first come-first served basis.

There is also the Sunset Beach Café, which offers a selection of food, snacks, beverages, coffee, Italian sodas and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. The café is open daily until Labor Day.

If you’re up for an adventure in the water, Issaquah Paddle Sports offers a variety of kayak, pedal boat and standup paddleboard rentals from their location at Tibbets Beach.

And if you have a furry pal, dogs are welcome to the park, but must always be on a leash and under physical control. They are not permitted in designated swim areas.
